# From oDesk to Codex: My Blog Migration, 15 Years Later

> In 2011, moving my blog cost $150 and hours of my attention. Fifteen years later, Codex handled the migration with about ten minutes of my time.

There was a time in the not too distant past when there were tedious and time-consuming tasks that humans were paid to do using a computer. That time is officially over. Our children will grow up in a world where AI handles these tasks effortlessly.

In 2011 I paid someone on oDesk (now Upwork) $150 to migrate my blog from one platform to another. It took them a couple days. We had to go back and forth several times to get everything right. I spent a few hours directing the process and providing input on it myself.

Yesterday I asked GPT 6 Astra (High) in Codex to migrate my blog from Blogger to this custom site, and build me a markdown based blogging system while it was at it. It had even been so long since I've written a post that I forgot where it was hosted.

My monthly Codex subscription is $200.

Note: I use [superpowers skills](https://www.skills.sh/obra/superpowers) in this repo.

I did not read the proposed plans. I just wanted to see what it would look like.

Provided a little feedback...

YOLO

Clicked around a bit on the site. Noted a bug in production that didn't show up in dev.

Total active time for me: About *10 minutes*. It took me longer to write this post than to migrate the blog.

Total active time for Codex: *1hr, 4 min, 13 seconds* including test runs and waiting for deployments.

What does this mean for the world? How will we adapt? How much better will our lives become? How much more wealth will be created? How much more time will we have to focus on what truly matters? The era of AI-driven productivity is just beginning, and we are only starting to glimpse its potential.
